There are a few variations in colour, from intense magenta-reds to blush pinks and white. For best effect they should be planted in groups beside water. It is a short lived perennial but if allowed to self-seed it will repopulate an area.

PropagationCommonly by seed but occasionally by division.
CultivationMoist conditions with a preference of soils high in organic material. Do not let the plants dry out between watering. Prefers cool locations in partial shade.
