Description and Growing Information

General DescriptionA critically endangered perennial which looks similar to that of a small onion. Each of its flowering stems bear 1-2 flowers clustered in loose groupings. Known for its toxic properties and can cause severe digestive disorders.
HabitatMoist, shaded crevices and banks, under a closed canopy of oak tress and shrubs at an altitude of 250-900 m.
Leaf Description3-6 think spear shaped leaves, 70 cm long and 0.5-1.5 cm in width, that emerge from the bulb below ground and curve around the flowering stalk.
Flower DescriptionSmall star shaped flowers generally lilac, blue or creamy white in colour.
