HabitatTemperate forests at an altitude of 500-2,400 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionDark grey with thin, greyish-brown branchlets.
Leaf DescriptionOvate, broadly obviate, ovate-elliptic or ovate-rhombic, surrounded or broadly cuneate base and 8-12 lateral veins on either side of the mid vein, 2-6x1.3-4 cm.
Flower DescriptionFemale inflorescence 3-6 cm.
Fruit DescriptionBroadly ovoid, glabrous and ribbed nutlet, 3x2 mm, produced July through September.
