General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
HabitatCoastal plains, open woodlands and scrublands at an altitude to 200 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionDark brown or black bark with scales. Yellowish twigs maturing to a light grey.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionReddish or dark brown, ovoid and globose, 1-3 mm.
Leaf DescriptionLanceolate or elliptic, with a cuneate base and 8-10 secondary veins on either side of the midven, 3.5-6 x 1-3 cm.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, singular or grouped up to 3, 1-10 cm.
