Acer palmatum
'Wolff'
Emperor I® Japanese Maple, Red Emperor Japanese Maple
"
An outstanding Japanese Maple cultivar, with deep red foliage that rivals Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' yet grows much faster. A strong, hardy and easily grown plant that may develop as a shrub or a tree. Deep crimson-purple leaves in autumn make this a strikingly attractive species. It also tends to leaf out rather late, making it less susceptible to frost damage in colder climates.
