An excellent plant as a groundcover, a little overused in my opinion where large masses of it lack originality. It could be used as a contrasting groundcover with conifers. I prefer that it not be clipped tight but just a periodic cutting of long errant shoots.

| One of the largest leaved Euonymus, with ovate leaves to 5-7cm long and purple buds, more so in winter. |
| Pests |
| Euonymus scale can be a major problem if not controlled when first found. Some winter burn may occur in areas of low snowfall. Euonymus crown gall can be a minor problem. |
