Garden BioAlthough the Garfield Park Conservatory was first built in 1908, the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance did not form until nearly a century later, in 1998, when a winter storm nearly shut the facility down. Formed by a group of people in the Garfield Park community, the Alliance is a non-profit organization that works closely with the Chicago Park District to provide educational programming, events and resources to Conservatory visitors. The Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance changes lives through the power of nature. We inspire, educate and provoke exploration through innovative programs and experiences in one of the nation’s largest and finest historic conservatories.
