Propagation | Easily by division of clumps or root cuttings. Root cuttings collected in the autumn and cut into 5 cm lengths and placed horizontally in flats barley covering the top. Water and place in a cold frame until growth appears and then pot individually. |
Cultivation | Plants prefer a rich, moist site, spreading to form a patch. Good for part shade. Use a winter mulch in colder regions, particularly if planting in the autumn. Easily divided in early spring. Usually does not need to be staked. |
