I have mixed feelings about this plant and although I appreciate the blooms I am concerned that it may become aggressive in the border since it's kin are known to spread rapidly by their underground roots.

Description and Growing Information

PropagationEasily by division of clumps or root cuttings. Root cuttings collected in the autumn and cut into 5 cm lengths and placed horizontally in flats barley covering the top. Water and place in a cold frame until growth appears and then pot individually.
CultivationPlants prefer a rich, moist site, spreading to form a patch. Good for part shade. Use a winter mulch in colder regions, particularly if planting in the autumn. Easily divided in early spring. Usually does not need to be staked.
