General DescriptionA great plant for rock gardens/low maintenance gardens. Under ideal conditions, it can live up to 50 years old. Beautiful emerald green colour.
ID CharacteristicA dense evergreen shrub that can grow up to 15-31 cm tall with a spread of 1.2 m. Buds are cylindrical about 1 cm long and resinous.
ShapeLow dense multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with rounded form.

CultivationGrow in healthy fertile soil, with adequate moisture, humus rich that is well drained. With proper soil conditions it is more tolerant to insect.

Bark/Stem DescriptionThe twigs are green, but become brown during the second season. Hairless with prominent ridges and grooves. Bark is a dark grey and scaly.

Leaf DescriptionNeedles are in fasciles of 2, usually 3-6 cm long curved and somewhat twisted. They are also stiff, pointed and dark green. Edges are finely toothed, bundle sheath persistent with needles 10 mm long.
