Koelreuteria paniculata (Panicled Goldenrain Tree)

Michael's Opinion

A beautiful tree when in bloom when the large panicles of golden blooms hang from the tree. It can be problematic and high maintenance because of the wilt that causes extensive dieback (see pests and diseases). I have tried many times to grow a good example of this tree both in the Cuddy Gardens and at Fanshawe College but have failed in both instances; both from the same source so planting stock could be an issue. That said there is an excellent example on Byron Baseline Road in London, Ontario.
