Description and Growing Information

General DescriptionCarnivorous plant that attracts insects and other small animals to the colors and secretions of its pitchers. Prey includes insects, beetles and spiders, also slugs and more rarely frogs, lizards and newts. Insects entering the pitchers lose their footing on the smooth hairs and waxy covering of the rim and inner surface and fall to the bottom of the pitcher where they are digested by plant enzymes.
