| Origin | The genus Magnolia is named after Pierre Magnol, a French botanist who lived from 1638 to 1715. The subspecies is Native to Yunnan, China. Lanarth is a selection raised by Felix M. Jury from a seedling imported to New Zealand and commercialized by Duncan and Davies since the early 1980's. |
