General DescriptionA conic coniferous fir with an open crown.
HabitatFound at elevations of 2,400-3,800m in the high central mountains of Taiwan with a precipitation range of 4000-10,000 mm, making it one of the wettest mountain ranges in the world.
Bark/Stem DescriptionBark is corky and buff-grey.
Leaf DescriptionNeedles are 1-2.8 cm long, pruinose, dark green adaxil with stomata lines while abaxil they are almost white with two stomatal bands.
Fruit DescriptionSeeds are up to 8 mm in length and are black-brown in colour.
