Origin | In the 1950's the 'Little Girl Series' of Magnolias was developed at the United States National Arboretum, in Washington D.C., by Francis DeVos and William Kosar: the series includes 'Ann’, ‘Betty’, ‘Jane’, ‘Judy’, ‘Pinkie’, ‘Randy’, ‘Ricki’ and ‘Susan’. Pinkie is a cross between M. stellata 'Rosea' and M. lilliflora 'Nigra'. |

Description and Growing Information
Landscape | Great for small spaces and is easy to maintain. Beautiful accent plant or single specimen for maximum display purposes. |
Propagation | Softwood cuttings may be taken in early summer and rooted under mist and bottom heat. Layering of low branches in early spring of plants in situ. |
Cultivation | Humus-rich, acidic, moist soil in full sun to partial shade. |
Pests | Horse chestnut scale, capsid bug and snails, coral spot, grey mould, honey fungus, a virus, fungal leaf spot or iron deficiency and lime-induced chlorosis. |
