General DescriptionThis astonishing plant has very showy flowers in late spring, early summer. This particular plant has dark pink bell-shaped flowers. This cultivar is extremely cold hardy tolerating full sun, light shade, and thrives in average soils.
ID CharacteristicThis elegant and hardy spring-flowering shrub is covered in reddish-pink trumpet-shaped flowers with yellow throats, which attract humming birds. It has green-tinged purple leaves. The corolla is ruby red and the petal lobes are lilac purple.

LandscapeThis shrub is used best in groupings or massing. Also used in shrub borders, small hedges or foundation plantings.
