Bark/Stem Description | Sandy-brown in colour, the bark is thin and strong. As the shrub ages the bark exfoliates and begins to peel. |

Leaf Description | Consists of dense clusters 0.5-1.5 cm in size, dark green in colour with tiny hairs outlining the surface. Immediately after frost, the leaves turn brown and fall off.

Flower Description | These desirable flowers are shaped like butter cups and are yellowish-gold in colour. They produce nectar and a sweet aroma. These five-petaled flowers are 3-4 cm wide and saucer like. Formed in dense clusters, they cover the entire shrub. |
Fruit Description | Small hard and insignificant. Brown in colour and disputably poisonous. Birds occasionally pick them up.
