General DescriptionMiscanthus sinensis 'Grosse Fontäne' is a tall ornamental grass with upright stems and green foliage turning orange, red and purple in autumn and feather-like pink flower heads turning silver.
LandscapeThis ornamental grass cultivar provides height and textural interest to any landscape. Use in borders and beds, for privacy or in a cottage or coastal garden. Also great for urban locations as it is tolerant of air pollution and low maintenance.
PropagationBy division in spring but may take some time to establish.
CultivationGrow in full sun, in moist, well-drained soil. Remove dead foliage and stems in spring to encourage new growth. Protect from excess moisture in winter.
