Description and Growing Information

General DescriptionA dwarf bearded iris with solitary purple-violet flowers. Occasionally as many as 3 flowers produced on a single plant.
PropagationPropagate by seed or dividing rhizomes.
CultivationGrow in full sun in a well-drained soil.
PestsSusceptible to rhizome soft rot (Erwinia carotovora) and scorch.
Leaf DescriptionThe leaves are almost completely straight, grey-green in colour, to 15x1.5 cm, dying away in winter.
Flower DescriptionFour lime-green petals make up the main body, with three slightly darker bracts curling just underneath it. The bracts measure 10 cm, enclosing the tube. Flowers have a blue or yellow beard.
