General Description | A critically endangered herb closely comparable to a thistle. It has tufts of woolly haired, spiny almost white stems, the leaves covered in yellow thorns and bears white or pink flower heads at the top of its stems. |
Habitat | Eroded rock at an altitude of 1,500-1,700 m amongst montane dwarf shrub and steppe vegetation. |
Leaf Description | Longer than they are wide, spear shaped and point in all directions. |
Flower Description | Flower heads are comprised of numerous tiny tubular florets which give the illusion of one large flower. |
