General DescriptionA low and compact thick shrub, its spiny joints are grouped into dense clusters.
CultivationRocky and sandy soils.
HabitatDesert slopes at an altitude of 1,000-1,400 m.
Leaf DescriptionConical leaves, 1.5 mm in length. Spines are cluttered and a yellowish-pink colour, 10-14 per areole, straight and roughly 2-2.5 cm long.
Flower Description2-3 cm in diameter with pale greenish-yellow flowers and sepaloids, 6-9 mm long.
Fruit DescriptionYellow spineless, fleshy fruit, obovoid and 2-3 cm in length.
