General DescriptionThis shrub or small tree has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
HabitatForests and stream sides at at an altitude of 200-1,900 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionSmooth, dark grey in colour. Branchlets are glabrous and a grey-brown colour.
Flower/Leaf Bud Description3-6 scales without a stem or peduncle.
Leaf DescriptionBroadly ovate, ovate or elliptic, glabrous, rounded at the base, 7-13 lateral veins on each side, 4-10 x 2.5-8 cm.
Flower DescriptionFemale inflorescences are in a raceme of 3-6, oblong or globose, 1-2 cm in length.
Fruit DescriptionNutlelt is 2 mm with wings as wide as the nutlet. Produced from July through August.
