General Description | This tree has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern. |
Landscape | Woodland and bog gardens. |
Propagation | Propagation by seed should be sown as soon as it is ripe in a cold frame. Germination should be done in the spring, once seed is large enough, prick and plant into pots. Plant in permanent positions in autumn/winter or the following season. Propagation by cuttings should be of mature wood and taken as soon as the leaves fall in autumn. |
Cultivation | Moist, well drained, medium and heavy, acidic, neutral and alkaline soils in full sun to partial shade. |
Habitat | Stream banks and forest ravines at an altitude of 900-2,700 m. |
