General DescriptionThis spreading shrub has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
HabitatAcidic rocky slopes and barrens, stream banks, summits and arctic and alpine tundra at an altitude of 0-3,400 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionSmooth and dark brown in colour.
Leaf DescriptionObovate to orbicular, rounded at its base with 2-6 lateral veins on either side, 0.5-3 x 1-2.5 cm.
Flower DescriptionCylindric infructescences 1-2.5 x 0.5-1.2, producing fruit in autumn.
