HabitatForests at an altitude of 400-2,000 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionDark in colour.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid, glabrous winter buds.
Leaf DescriptionOblong or oblong-lanceolate, a obtuse to cuneate base with 3 veins, slightly raised, 5-6 lateral veins on either side of the midvein, 2.5-13 x 1-4 cm.
Flower DescriptionSmall flowers with 5 septals, 5 petals and 8 stamens.
Fruit DescriptionConvex nutlets, 5 mm in diameter with spreading wings, 1.5-2.5 x 6 mm, produced in September.
