Bark/Stem DescriptionRough, blackish-brown in colour with glabrous branchlets purplish green in colour in their youth maturing to a blackish-grey or blackish-brown colour.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid winter buds with yellowish brown scales.
Leaf DescriptionElliptic to elliptic-oblong, greyish-green graduating to a dark shiny green, thick and tough with a cuneate base, 8-14 x 3.5-6 cm.
Flower DescriptionYellow flowers with 5 petals and 8 stamens, 3.3-4 mm.
Fruit DescriptionYellowish-purple fruit produced in September. Nutlets with spreading wings, 2.8-3.2 cm.
