General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatForest valleys at an altitude of 1,100-1,700 m in northern Vietnam and southern Yunnan.
Bark/Stem DescriptionBlackish-grey or grey with thin brown branchlets.
Leaf DescriptionThink, rough, a rounded or broadly cuneate base with 3 triangular-ovate lobes.
Fruit DescriptionPurplish yellow fruit, produced in September. Oblong nutlets, 3.5-3.2 x 1.7 cm, with spreading pubescent or glabrescent wings.
