General DescriptionThis species which occupies an area of 444 km, has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatMixed forests in southern Yunnan at an altitude of 1,000-1,500 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionRough dark grey to dark brown bark with glabrous branchlets purplish brown when young and mature to a dark brown or dark grey.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid buds with ciliate scales.
Leaf DescriptionGreen, ovate-oblong or oblong-elliptic, an obtuse or broadly cuneate base with 7-9 pairs of veins, 8-14x3-4 cm.
Fruit DescriptionYellowish brown fruit, produced in September and convex winged nutelts, 1x1.4 cm.
