General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatSparse forests at an altitude of 1,000-1,500 m.
Bark/Stem Description Smooth greyish-brown to grey bark with glabrous branchlets green in colour when young.
Leaf DescriptionGreen leaves, thin, elliptic, with a truncate or cordate base, 5-8 x 7-11 cm
Flower DescriptionWhitish-green 5-petaled flowers, 5 purplish green sepals and 8 stamens.
Fruit DescriptionSamara's purplish-red in youth and mature to a yellowish brown colour, 2-2.5 cm, produced in September. Globose, convex winged nutlets 6-8 mm.
