General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatValleys in mixed forests at an altitude of 1,800-3,000 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionBrown bark with rough, glabrous greenish-brown branchlets.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid with imbricate scales.
Leaf DescriptionSuborbicular or broadly ovate, 5 primary veins and 6-8 lateral veins on either side of the mid vein, with 3 short lobes and a cordate base, 10-15 x 8-15 cm.
Flower Description5 petaled flowers with 5 sepals as long as the petals and 8 stamens.
Fruit DescriptionSamara and winged nutlet, produced in September.
