General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatMesophytic forests at an altitude of 200-600 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionGlabrous branchlets with a white hue.
Leaf DescriptionOblong-elliptic, ovate, ovate-lanceolate or lanceolate, with a rounded to cuneate base and 6-8 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 10-15 x 3-6 cm.
Flower DescriptionFemale inflorescences, 2-3 cm.
Fruit DescriptionBowl-shaped acorn, pale brown, 0.3-3 cm. Oblong-ellipsoid glabrous nut, 4 x 2-3 cm, produced November through December.
