General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened, and is considered endangered in China.
HabitatMountain valleys and river banks at an altitude of 700-1,000 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionGlabrescent brown branchlets.
Leaf DescriptionOblong-elliptic to lanceolate, thick, glabrescent with a cuneat base and 12-17 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 10-17 x 3-5 cm.
Fruit DescriptionOblate yellowish-brown nut, 1.1-1.4 x 1.3-1.8 cm.
