General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatWet evergreen forests in mountain valleys at an altitude of 1,300-2,000 m.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionLight grey bark.
Leaf DescriptionOblong-elliptic to lanceolate, thick, glabrescent with a cuneate to subrounded base and 15-20 prominent secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 9-20 x 2-4 cm.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, brown, 5-12 mm x 2.5-3.5 cm, produced October through December.
