HabitatMontane forests at an altitude up to 3,000 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionScaly, greenish-black in colour and crackled.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid with pubescent scales, 6 mm in length.
Leaf DescriptionThick with a bubbled surface, glabrescent with some hairs along the midrib, 7-10 secondary veins on either side of the midvein and a rounded or cordate base.
Flower DescriptionInflorescences, 4-9 cm in length.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, blackish-brown in colour, 2-3 cm in diameter.
