General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened and is considered near threatened in Guatamala.
HabitatRainforests at an altitude of 900-1,500 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionGrey or reddish-brown branchlets.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOblong with hairy scales, 5-6 mm in length.
Leaf DescriptionLanceolate to oblanceolate, few hairs at the base of the midrib, 13-147 secondary veins on either side of the midvein and a cuneate or narrowly rounded base.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, ovoid and brown in colour, 2-3 x 2-2.5 cm.
