General DescriptionWith a single population systeym in the valley of Rio Concho and long the Rio Grande, this species has been placed on the IUCN Red List.
HabitatLimestone slopes and dry montane scrubs at an altitude of 1,700-2,100 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionThick, glabrous branchlets.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid and narrow, 2 mm in length.
Leaf DescriptionOvate, toothed, green with a pale grey-green underside, 5-7 secondary veins on either side of the midvein and a rounded or cordate base, 1.2-2.5 x 1-1.5 cm.
Flower DescriptionCatkins, 1 cm in length.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, singular or paired.
