Leaf DescriptionLanceolate, oval or elliptical, thick with a rounded to cordate base, toothed, glossy green and 6-14 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 5-20 x 3-10 cm.
Flower DescriptionFemale inflorescences, 1-1.4 cm in length and male catkins 3-10 cm in length.
Fruit DescriptionGlobose acorn with pointed scales, 6-15 mm in length, produced in October.
