General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatEvergreen forests on mountain peaks and slopes at an altitude of 1,600-1,800 m.
Leaf DescriptionOboval to oblong-elliptic, dark green, 5-8 prominent secondary veins on either side of the midvein and a cuneate base, 2.5-6 x 1.5-2.5 cm.
Fruit DescriptionSubglobose acorn, 1-2 cm. produced in November.
