General DescriptionWith small, fragmented populations and less than 1,000 individuals remaining, this species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatForests with rich, moist soils at an altitude of 0-200 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionScaly and pale grey.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionGlobose, reddish-brown, 2-2.5 mm in length.
Leaf DescriptionElliptic to oblanceolate, a yellow midrib, 3-5 secondary veins on either side of the midvein with a cuneate or cordate base, 5-13 x 2-4 cm.
Fruit DescriptionOvoid, dark brown acorn, 1.6-2 cm in length.
