General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatFound at altitudes of 1,700-3,000 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionPubescent young twigs.
Leaf DescriptionElliptic to oval-oblong, thick, glossy dark green with a rounded to attenuate base and 7-10 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 3-5 x 1-2 cm.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn with reddish tipped scales, globose singular or paired, 1.5 x 0.6-1 cm.
