General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatTropical mountain valleys in evergreen forests at an altitude of 1,000-1,100 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionRough grey bark.
Leaf DescriptionOval to oblong-elliptic, toothed margin, a yellowish-green underside with a broad cuneate to rounded base and 13-22 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 10-16 x 3.5-6 cm.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, 1.4-1.6 cm in length, produced September through October.
