General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
HabitatMountains in mixed mesophytic forests at an altitude of 800-1,300 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionThin, dark purple twigs.
Leaf DescriptionElliptic, green with a whitish underside, a cuneate base and 8-10 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 5-8 x 1.5-3 cm.
Flower DescriptionMale inflorescences, 2-5 cm in length.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, ovoid, 0.9-1.3 x 0.7-1 cm.
