General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
HabitatWet and dry mountains at an altitude of 1,500-2,600 m.
Leaf DescriptionOboval, oblong-oboval or elliptical, thick, toothed, glossy, glabrous and rough with a rounded or cordate base and 6-10 veins on either side of the midvein, 4-16 x 3-10 cm.
Flower DescriptionCatkins, 6-10 cm in length.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, ovoid, singular or paired, 1.5-2 cm, produced July through August.
