Bark/Stem DescriptionGrey and furrowed bark, with yellow, pubescent young branches maturing to glabrous and dark red.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionAcorn, ovoid and pointed, 3-67 mm.
Leaf DescriptionOboval or elliptical, thick, a pointed apex, toothed, vibrant green and slightly rough with a whitish underside, a subcordate to truncate base and 8-15 secondary veins on either side of the midvein.
Flower DescriptionCatkins, 5-6 cm in length.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, ovoid and light brown, 1.5-2 x 1.5 cm.
