HabitatFound at altitudes of 800-3,500 m.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid and pointed, 2-4 mm in length.
Leaf DescriptionElliptic, oblong or oblanceolate, a obtuse or pointed apex, toothed, rough, green and glabrous with a whitish-grey underside, a subcordate base and 5-12 lateral veins on either side of the midvein, 2.5-12 x 1.2-4.5 cm.
Flower DescriptionMale catkins, 6 cm in length, female inflorescences 1 cm.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, ovoid, singular or paired, 1-2 cm.
