HabitatFound at altitudes of 1,200-2,400 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionDark grey, thick with deep furrows and reddish-brown thin twigs.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid, reddish-brown, 2.5-6.5 cm.
Leaf DescriptionLanceolate, thick, glabrous, toothed, yellowish-green with a cordate base and 6-9 veins on either side of the midvein, 2.5-8.5 x 1-3.5 cm.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, narrow and elongated, 1.2-1.9 cm, produced August through October.
