General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
HabitatDry, rocky soils at an altitude of 1,000-2,700 m.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionOvoid and obtuse, 2-3 cm in length.
Leaf DescriptionOblong, elliptic, oboval or lanceolate, thick, glossy, dark green and glabrous with a rounded rounded or cordate base and 7-12 veins on either side of the midvein, 7-13 x 2-6 cm.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, ovoid, 0.8-1.3 x 0.6-0.8 cm, produced September through December.
