General DescriptionThis species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
HabitatMoist forests at an altitude of approximately 1,800 m.
Bark/Stem DescriptionGrey and fissured with shiny greyish-brown twigs.
Flower/Leaf Bud DescriptionPointed, 4-9 cm in length.
Leaf DescriptionGlossy, dark green with a pale underside, 5-8 rounded lobes, a truncate or oblique base and 5-7 secondary veins on either side of the midvein, 6-12 x 4-7 cm.
Flower DescriptionGloden brown drooping catkins, 5-8 cm in length.
Fruit DescriptionAcorn, ovoid, 1.5-4 x 1-2.5 cm.
