Description and Growing Information

General DescriptionIt was named after Baron (Charles) von Hugel.
LandscapeUsed in mixed borders or as an informal hedge.
PropagationSemi-hardwood cuttings. 10 cm tip cuttings work best although soft tip cuttings also rot well.
CultivationSandy and gravel soils. Drought tolerant.
HabitatSandy coastal plains to mallee scrubland and heath on a variety of soils.
Flower DescriptionFive petaled, 70 mm in length and overlapping slightly with ridges.
Colour DescriptionThe flowers are cream, mauve but typically lilac in colour. The leaves are a dark green.
