Description and Growing Information

General DescriptionLeptocereus quadricostatus is a shrub or small tree. Soil pH requirements are 6.1-6.5 (mildly acidic), 6.6-7.5 (neutral) and 7.6-7.8 (mildly alkaline).
ID CharacteristicDrought-tolerant, suitable for container growing. Full sun and sun to partial shade.
PropagationWoody stem and softwood cuttings. Allow cut surface to callous over before planting. From seed; direct sow after last frost.
PestsMajor threats are invasive grasses, fire, and tourism development. Natural disasters: hurricanes, coastal inundation and earthquakes, are a current and on-going threat.
HabitatSubtropical or tropical dry forests and shrub-land.
Colour DescriptionPale yellow, yellow-green and pale green when in bloom.
