Not only is this plant nice to look at, with full foliage and big interesting flowers, but its maintenance and easy-growing is appealing to growers of all levels. Having this shrub be so tolerant of many different conditions makes it a top contender for a wide variety of gardens.

Description and Growing Information

General DescriptionThis medium-sized shrub has full dark green foliage which lends to the contrast of the brilliant yellow flowers that mound over it in summer.
ID CharacteristicBright yellow flowers. These flowers, which cover the entire shrub in the summer, have easily recognizable stamen that stick far out of the flower. The stems on the plant are also red which offers another defining characteristic.
ShapeFull, naturally-rounded shape.
LandscapeUse as beds, borders, urban parks, public gardens, bordering buildings, general ground cover. Can be a hedge once it matures.
PropagationPropagation by stem cuttings. Clip hardwood cuttings in the summer and transplant into sterile soil, irrigated and under bright, indirect light.
CultivationGrows best in well drained, moist soil of any pH level in full-to-partial sun. Although it is tolerant to a lot of pollution and different growing conditions it does not tolerate standing water. Grows best in a warmer climate.
